LASIK SURGERY HAZE EFFECT
With surface ablation procedures such as PRK, LASEK and Epi LASIK an occasional result is the formation of haze. Haze is caused when there is a cellular reaction in the corneal stroma after the procedure, the result of secretions of the surface cells being deposited in the anterior corneal stroma. Less than one percent of patients experience serious haze after PRK, and even fewer after LASIK. Haze may be irritated by ultraviolet light, making sunglasses and hats necessary in bright sunlight. Even a moderate amount of haze will not affect your vision. |
