LASIK Surgery Infection and Inflammation
It is natural to fear infection after surgery, but it is extremely rare. If infection should appear, it becomes apparent within the first 2 to 3 days after the procedure. Antibiotic drops will be used after your surgery, but starting these drops 2 days before your scheduled appointment can help decrease the risk of infection further. It is very important that you avoid any contact with eye makeup, hot tubs, swimming pools and anything else that could cause infection for the first week after your LASIK surgery. Follow up visits are vital in making sure your eyes heal properly and quickly. |
